Tracking a warm and dry week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the upper 70s to around 80

EXTENDED: Tonight will be cool again with lows falling to near 50, but we'll begin to see a wind shift to the southeast, allowing warmer air to move in by late afternoon. Highs tomorrow reach near 80 degrees, and we'll continue to warm throughout the week. A weak disturbance will push a front through between Wednesday and Thursday, increasing cloud cover but very little rain is expected as this passes us. We could see increasing cloud cover over the weekend, with the current forecast in the 80s on Saturday and Sunday. There is a disturbance developing in the Gulf of Mexico that could strengthen into a tropical system and make landfall across the southeast this weekend, perhaps sending some clouds and moisture our direction, thwarting our clear weekend forecast. The eastward expansion of upper high pressure may prevent this, however, and keep any moisture to our east. We'll closely watch how that evolves over the next few days. Next week is looking more active and cooler with highs back into the 60s and 70s.
