Tracking spotty storms this afternoon, cooldown tonight

THIS AFTERNOON: Spotty storms continue, though rain chances will be lower than in the morning as the bulk of the rain moves east. Temperatures climb to the low 70s with a strong southerly breeze up to 25 mph.

TONIGHT: Rain winds down quickly after sunset, but light drizzle could continue overnight. Lows fall sharply to the upper 40s as fall chill returns to Mid-MO.

EXTENDED: A cooldown settles in late week, with highs in the low 60s and mornings in the low 40s. A few showers are possible by late Thursday as a system skirts by, but most will stay dry. Lows drop into the 30s by the weekend, with highs in the mid-50s. Still, another warmup is expected into mid-November, with temperatures climbing above average into the mid-60s again next week.
