New details about what led to a drowning at the Lake of the Ozarks on Wednesday have been revealed in a drowning report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

MSHP reported Wednesday that three people fell out of a bass boat in the Gravois Arm in Morgan County just before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the victim is a 58-year-old Arnold man. His body was recovered around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F spokesman Sgt. Kyle Green.

The people were riding in an 18-foot 2005 Tracker Avalanche heading north at the 6 mile marker when the boat experienced a mechanical malfunction, causing the driver of the boat to lose control, according to the report.

All three people were thrown into the water during the malfunction.

Details about the other two people on the boat were not made available.

This is Troop F's first boating death of the year and the first in November.
