The Columbia Board of Education will give a presentation on the state’s new A-F district grading system at its meeting on Monday.

The Missouri State Board of Education approved the A-F school and district grading framework in September.

In January, Gov. Mike Kehoe signed an executive order in January creating the grade cards. The order calls for each public school, charter school and district to receive an overall A, B, C, D or F rating based on a 100-point scale.

  • A -- 89% and higher
  • B -- 76% to 88%
  • C -- 63% to 75%
  • D -- 50% to 62%
  • F -- Below 50%

Monday’s PowerPoint presentation says the A-F Framework does not replace the Annual Performance Report under the Missouri School Improvement Program, it is in addition to APR but does not count towards accountability. The presentation says it is expected to be used as a “public information rating.”
