Save Katy Station is hosting an event on Sunday to announce a "major update" on the efforts to save the historic building.

According to the press release, organizers will share the latest updates with the public and discuss what future efforts will look like.

The release said the group has been in contact with the new developers of the property on which Katy Station is located.

The property is currently known as Shiloh Bar and Grill, and the owner, Nic Parks, confirmed to ABC 17 News that the bar will officially close in December and implied that the landlord plans to sell the property, with a potential buyer planning to redevelop the building, according to previous reporting.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Shiloh Bar and Grill, and everyone from the community is invited to attend.

The event schedule will be:

  • 5 to 6 p.m.: Social and live music hour.
  • 6 to 6:30 p.m.: Update is announced, presentation on history of building and potential future.
  • 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Public listening and feedback session

Save Katy Station has received over 1,200 people signing up to support the efforts, according to the press release.

Katy Station originally served as a depot for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. The building is located at 402 E. Broadway and was added to the Columbia Historic Register on Jan. 29, 1979.

Pat Zenner with the city of Columbia told ABC 17 News that there has been no official application submitted for new development.
