Tracking sunnier skies to start the week

THIS AFTERNOON: Clearing clouds, with mild temperatures in the mid-70s and a calm easterly breeze.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cooler, with lows falling into the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Sunshine will finally return to kick off the workweek, and temperatures warm slightly to the lower 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday as we stay dry. However, rain chances increase later in the week between Wednesday night and Friday as remnant moisture from tropical cyclone Polo will spread into the south-central U.S., delivering upwards of 2 inches of rain for the southern half of Mid-MO. Rain should exit quickly before the weekend, with even cooler temperatures in the 60s for Mizzou homecoming on Saturday.
