Tracking bright, hot afternoons persisting into the weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking afternoon heat as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 80s under sunny skies. A southwesterly breeze at 5-10 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph, will keep conditions feeling like summer through the rest of the day.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking thin, high-level clouds passing overhead as a dry cold front crosses the region. It won't bring much cooling, as light north winds at 4-8 mph keep overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking slightly cooler air behind the front for Thursday afternoon, with highs capping out in the low 80s. That quick dip doesn't linger long, as southerly winds and abundant sunshine return Friday to send temperatures back into the mid-to-upper 80s. Similar late-summer warmth is expected through the weekend, with the primary effect of Tropical Storm Isaias's remnants staying to our east being a brief increase in clouds Saturday and Sunday. Dry, warm weather holds firm into early next week before a stronger system approaches with better rain chances and cooler air.
