Tracking chilly fall mornings before warmer temperatures take over each afternoon

TODAY: I'm tracking more patchy frost this morning, mainly east of Columbia, as temperatures begin in the upper 30s and low 40s. By the afternoon hours, sunshine and southerly winds at 8-12 mph will help Mid-Missouri warm back into the upper 60s.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a mostly clear night with southeasterly winds at 6-8 mph. By dawn tomorrow, temperatures will be back in the lower 40s, so frost is less likely.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a few upper-level clouds by Monday afternoon, but that won't stop temperatures from warming into the low 70s. Slightly more clouds are expected Tuesday, with mid-40s in the morning and low 70s continuing for the afternoon, but these clouds won't last long. By Wednesday and Thursday, mostly sunny conditions return, allowing for slightly warmer mornings in the upper 40s and low 50s and warmer afternoons in the upper 70s. By Friday and Saturday, temperatures could reach near 80 during the peak warmth as clouds gradually return to the forecast.
