A 73-year-old man is dead after a plane crash in Pettis County Saturday.

The Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders shared to social media Sunday that Pettis County Deputies, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pettis County Fire and other agencies responded to the 10000 block of State Highway B around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival law enforcement observed an Ultralite aircraft downed near a pond in the front yard of a residence. Bystanders had removed the pilot prior to first responder arrival and started CPR in an attempt to revive the man. The pilot was later declared deceased.
