Tracking more sunshine today, late-week rain chances

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunnier and warmer, with highs reaching the low 80s. Winds from the south could gust as high as 15 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool, with evening temperatures quickly falling into the 60s. Lows settle in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Skies remain mostly clear through Thursday, but a few clouds are possible tomorrow as a front moves over the area, possibly bringing a few sprinkles. As the front moves north on Friday morning, it could produce scattered showers near and north of I-70, though we look drier by the afternoon. Moisture continues to increase into the weekend, and another round of showers is likely by Saturday afternoon and evening, making for some soggy trick-or-treating this holiday. It won't be a total washout, with rain totals below half an inch areawide, but bring a jacket or umbrella nonetheless. More rain is expected into early next week, and temperatures will fall into the low 70s.
