Tracking widespread rainfall before dry, mild conditions return this weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking scattered showers that will increase in coverage this morning, with widespread activity and potential rumbles of thunder expected by late morning/early afternoon. Temperatures will start in the low 70s and warm only into the mid-70s at most by this afternoon as rainfall continues. Winds will be out of the southwest at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking rainfall and rumbles of thunder gradually exiting overnight as temperatures drop back into the low 60s thanks to winds shifting into the north at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 15-20 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking any lingering showers or cloud cover Friday morning clearing out, leading to a sunny but breezy afternoon as temperatures warm back into the upper 60s and low 70s. A quiet forecast is expected to continue through the weekend, with mornings near the upper 40s/low 50s and afternoons in the low 70s, with sunny conditions to go along with it. This pattern holds through the first half of next week, with only a gradual warm-up to track as temperatures get back into the upper 70s by Wednesday afternoon.
