Tracking a slightly cooler afternoon before the heat returns for the weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking another quiet, mild start to the day with temperatures in the mid-50s before the sun fully rises. By the afternoon, a slightly cooler forecast is in store for Mid-Missouri, with low to mid 80s taking over the region as winds blow out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking mostly clear and quiet conditions as temperatures cool back into the upper 60s by the end of the night. Winds will be out of the south at 8-12 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking warmer, more summer-like weather quickly returning by Friday afternoon, with upper 80s once again in the forecast. By Saturday, slightly more cloud cover arrives with the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, leading to temperatures at most being a couple of degrees cooler than Friday, but no rainfall is expected in the area. This cloud cover exits by Saturday night, and by Sunday, the trend continues with plenty of sunshine and mid-to-upper 80s, with even hotter temperatures by Monday afternoon. By Tuesday and Wednesday, isolated chances of rainfall and slightly cooler weather arrive, but better rain chances and a more noticeable cooldown will not be expected until closer to the end of next week.
