Tracking potentially record-breaking warmth lasting through the weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking a mild start to the day with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. By the afternoon, plenty of sunshine and southerly winds at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 15 mph, will boost temperatures into the upper 80s and low 90s, giving some areas like Columbia a chance to break a daily high temperature record for the 9th of October.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking mostly clear conditions until the end of the night. Temperatures will drop back into the low 60s as winds continue out of the south at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a cloudier, cooler day Saturday thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, though no rainfall is expected this weekend. Temperatures will top out in the mid-80s Saturday and Sunday afternoon, even as sunshine returns by Sunday morning. Monday will be the hottest day in the next 7 days as the low 90s return, currently forecasted to be just a couple of degrees shy of another daily high temperature record. Tuesday will still be warm and dry in the mid-80s, but by Wednesday and Thursday, better rain chances finally enter Mid-Missouri. These rain chances will exit after Thursday, and with that, a noticeably cooler forecast arrives.
