Tracking a mild week with wet weather around Halloween

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild with lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Our stubborn upper pattern continues to hold across Mid-Missouri for much of the upcoming week, allowing for temperature to remain well above average with very little rainfall until the end of the week. Highs will make it to the upper 70s almost each day, with lows falling into the low to mid-50s. A stalled front could bring a few more clouds mid-week as a disturbance rolls by to our north, but we look to remain dry locally. A stronger wave of low pressure will barrel in from the southwest by the end of the week, breaking down our upper ridge or at least pressing it to the east, allowing for rain to develop between late Friday and Saturday. The air mass will be fairly dry ahead of this system, so rain amounts look to stay under 0.5" through the weekend, but temperatures may cool a bit into the lower 70s on Halloween due to clouds and showers. Prepare for at least light rain around on Saturday evening for trick-or-treating, with temperatures in the 60s after sunset.
