Tracking spotty rain chances tonight and on Halloween

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a few showers to the west in places like Sedalia, Marshall, and Warsaw. Lows fall to the upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Overcast with a chance of light showers before noon in western Mid-MO. Highs in the low 70s. A few sprinkles move east midday, but lots of dry time is expected in the afternoon and early evening for trick-or-treating. Temperatures fall into the 60s quickly after sunset. Spotty showers redevelop by 8 to 9 p.m. after most of the monsters head back home. Rain totals will be near zero to the northeast, including in Columbia and Jefferson City, but we could see up to a quarter of an inch to the south and west, stretching from Brunswick, Sedalia, and Osage Beach to Rolla.

EXTENDED: A few showers may linger into early Sunday as we fall back and gain an hour of sleep, but we remain gloomy and overcast through the end of the weekend with mild temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Widespread, soaking rain is expected to move through the region late Monday through Tuesday, delivering up to 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. Showers may linger through the end of the week, and temperatures cool to the mid-60s, which is still a handful of degrees above average for early November.
